About Dayswise
Dayswise is a collection of small, fast date and time calculators: countdowns to holidays, day-of-week lookups, age and generation calculators, calendars, and life-expectancy tools. Every answer is computed directly from a documented date rule or a cited public dataset, so there's no guessing and no black box.
Who's behind this
Dayswise is built and maintained by the Dayswise team. We don't claim to be statisticians, actuaries, or physicians, and we say so plainly on the pages where that matters most: our longevity and life-expectancy tools link directly to their public data sources and disclose what they can't account for, rather than presenting an estimate as more precise than it is.
How the calculators work
Holiday and seasonal dates are computed from documented rules (fixed calendar dates, "Nth weekday of the month" rules, the Easter computus algorithm, and a low-precision astronomical formula for equinoxes and solstices) rather than a hand-typed list that can drift out of date. Where a date genuinely can't be computed from a rule (Super Bowl Sunday, for example, which moves with the NFL's broadcast schedule) we maintain a dated lookup table instead and say so.
